I often feel guilty about how much I use my car for short trips to the shops or school runs, but every time I try to walk I always manage to be late, or it rains, and I hatre getting my hair wet!

So I guess I wouldn’t be Kris Murrin’s favourite person, as she is on a one woman mission to get us all out of the cars and onto the pavements! Her aim is simple for just one day, Kris will persuade a town to leave their cars at home and go car free.

It may not be a radical message, but taking it to the heart of middle England leads to fireworks. Her journey begins in Marlow. Kris isn’t expecting an easy ride but with apathy and opposition to the idea from the local council, community leaders and mums on the school run, will Kris be able to persuade a town to leave the gridlock and congestion behind?
