The X Factor USA continues to under perform, beaten by last Thursday episode of Big Brother

The second part of The X Factor USA launch was just as sluggish as the premiere on Wednesday, according to the latest figures.

According to Nielsen, The X Factor averaged a 2.2 rating in adults aged 18-49 and 6.8 million viewers overall.

The show did see a very slight rise in figures, mind. The X Factor USA was up 5% in the 18-49 demo and 10% in total on Wednesday’s premiere.

The first Thursday of the same episode one year ago managed a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demo, so the show is down quite a bit.

The final Thursday episode of Big Brother drew in 7.5 million viewers with a 2.6 demo score. Even the likes of a repeat of The Big Bang Theory scored more viewers with 8.5 million tuning in.

Meanwhile, NBC’s The Million Second Quiz continues its decline. Last night saw its lowest number yet and finished fourth among the big four in adults aged 18-49. 5.1 million viewers tuned in overall with 1.3 demo score.

FOX prevailed over its rivals in the main demo whilst the NFL Network was expected to lead overall in the same-night numbers with its game between the New York Jets and New England Patriots.

Preliminary results show FOX had a 2.2/7 score, CBS 1.9/6, ABC 1.4/4, Univision 1.3/4, NBC 1.0/3, Telemundo 0.4/1 and The CW 0.2/1.

The X Factor USA returns next week. Fingers crossed it can rise slightly in the ratings.
