This Morning: Are Eamonn Holmes And Ruth Langsford Ruining The Show?

Eamonn Holmes

Fans of ITV1’s award winning daytime show, This Morning have accused temporary hosts, Eamonn Holmes And Ruth Langsford of ruining the show.

The pair are in charge while regular hosts, Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton enjoy a well deserved holiday.

However one viewer left a scathing message on a fan website saying: “Are they trying to kill This Morning off?”

Time Lady added: “Mr and Mrs Phoney for a whole week! That’s it, I’m switching off.”

I have never been a big Holmes fan and I think his wife, a nice lady though she may be, is wooden and stilted and not much of a presenter.

ITV may be in luck though. I’ve heard Richard and Judy are on the market for a new show again…..

I couldn’t agree more. What on earth are the folks at This Morning thinking?
Ruth is up there with Zezi Big Brother in the ‘talentless presenter’ stakes…she is so wooden, uncharismatic, and basically, rubbish. From day 1 it was clear the only reason she got the gig was via her husband’s connections…and he is not much better, infact, he is worse, at least Ruth sticks to the script. We get snippets of a highly unpleasant, biggoted little man in Holmes, when he ad-libs. They are really behind the times also, Who is the demographic exactly? As far as I was aware, 20 something stay-at-home mums, students and pensioners. Since when did these two appeal to any of those? And they are married?? Christ, let’s hope the lack of on-screen chemistry doesn’t continue into their personal lives. I think it is naff aside from anything, to have a married couple presenting, excepting Richard and Judy – Holmes has built his career over the years, and it just seems as though he has issued This Morning an ultimatum – employ my unemployable wife or else.
I work part-time and used to have this programme on at home but I simply can’t bear to watch any longer. A shame, as This Morning used to be an institution. Those responsible for employing this pair ought to be institutionalised.

How dump and stupid a person could be to mistake the word lebanese for lesbian, I mean from what uncultured un evolved society does the creature Eamonn Holmes come, from what primitve race does this racist nazi descend ? what a cheap shot to repeat a silly joke once told on the “golden Girls” what a deficient immagination.

I dont think it is Eamonn Holmes ruining the programme. I find Ruth Langsford comes across of jealous towards female guests. He can’t be himself when he is with her.

Please Please Eamonn find a woman who will value you for who you are and you can be yourself.

They will never be a richard and Judy!!

I don’t know but I like Eamonn Holmes. Just love his accent and his sort of “big boy” way of being, really! Give him a chance, everybody is different. So, some like him, some don’t. He must be doing something right if he is on telly for such a long time!!! Won’t talk about his wife, as it always comes across as either too admiring or too jealous. So, I think she’s ok. And please, nobody should ever try to turn lovely Eamonn and Ruth to be like Richard and Judy… pleeease!

Eammon is great.Ruth has no talent and drags him down. He has to carry her- I can’t believe she would have this high profile job without being his ‘partner’. She shows no maternal warmth when dealing with children on the show – in fact she seemed petulant. so I was surprised to hear she had a child. He had to save her from making a bigger fool of herself on this occassion as I recall and was great with the kids. He won’t find a niche as ‘couple host’ with her in tow its always just so uncomfortable watching her. Shame for her but really she should stay behind the scenes. I agree with others she does seem jealous of other females on the shows which adds to the discomfort she generates.

Obviously the negative lot have never watched the odd time when other people have stood in, and it is only then you realise how good Philip and Fern are, and Ruth and Eamonn are a good standin. She certainly does not make me feel uncomfortable, and he obviously adores her. She was a presenter in her own right before meeting Eamonn. Get over yourselves..

I watched the programme today and was really irritated by Eamonn Holmes continually interrupting Ruth whilst she was endeavouring to put together a soup. He was telling her to tip the pot up so that we could all see it, which we could anyway. I thought Ruth did a great job, but I could have slapped him as he stood on the sidelines, having done nothing but criticise, and grinned smugly. How does she put up with him! He could take a lesson from Philip Schofield!
