Throughout September Channel 4 will air footage from this years iTunes Festival

The iTunes Festival is fast approaching and across the month of September some of the biggest names in music will descend on London where at the Roundhouse in Camden will play host.

The annual festival normally streams performances online – through iTunes but this year Channel 4 will be broadcasting highlights from the series of performances.

Channel 4 coverage will be hosted by BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Lauren Laverne and more coverage will be aired on E4 and 4Music from the 1st of September to the straight to the end of the month.


The iTunes Festival will see performances from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Arctic Monkeys, Elton John, Dizzee Rascal and it was revealed yesterday that Katy Perry would be closing the entire festival on the 30th of September.

Katy took to Twitter to let her fans know that she would be closing the month long festival.

Lady Gaga is also set to headline the opening night which what will surely be a fantastic show.

In a statement released by Channel 4, commissioning editor for music at Channel 4, Jonathan Rothery said: “We are delighted to welcome iTunes Festival back to Channel 4 for a second year.”

“The lineup for 2013 proves the event’s repeated ability to attract the biggest and most varied acts in the business.”

At present highlights of performances will be broadcast across the three channels every Wednesday through to Friday throughout September.

On Channel 4 an exclusive segment will air weekly on Wednesday which will feature interviews.
