Tony Robinson has tied the knot.

The ‘Time Team’ star, 64, married Louise Hobbs, 30, in a private ceremony on Italy’s Amalfi coast yesterday and even took the precaution of switching the time and venue at the last minute, so that they day could remain private and special.

Tony and Louise arrived separately to the Palazzo Tolla in Ravello – and broke with tradition by not leaving together once they were wed.

Recent wedding ceremonies at the venue have been conducted in a nearby park overlooking the sea, because of noisy buillding and restoration works, however Tony insisted their nuptials were carried out indoors, even if it meant numerous disruptions.

In 1992, Tony ended his 20-year marriage to Mary Shepherd – with who he has two children – to embark on a relationship with singer-songwriter Teri Bramah.
Two years later, he vowed never to marry again, branding the institution a “nonsense”, but announced his engagement to Louise in April this year.,
