Corrie murderer Tony Gordon reportedly goes on a “booze bender” when Carla finally admits that she’ll never love him as much as she loved Liam.

After she confesses her feelings for Liam, Carla packs her bags and leaves Tony, telling him that no other man could come close to Liam in her eyes. She also refuses to tell Tony where she’s going or even if she’ll be back.

After Carla drops her bombshell, Tony heads off to the Rovers to drown his sorrows and when he gets very drunk, he starts shouting in the pub, “How can I compete with a corpse? Liam’s like James Dean and Kurt Cobain”

Tony then raises his glass to Liam, saying, “Blessed be the name of Liam – the love of my wife’s life.”

Tony then locks himself away for days, but he’s definitely not down and out and comes back from his boozy depression even more determined to sort his life out. He barges into the office at the factory and demands, “Box up all that junk and bin everything in this place to do with Carla.”

Carla’s disappearing act is because Alison King, who plays the black widow, is going on maternity leave. So will Carla’s desertion cause Tony to flip out and get Maria in his murderous sights? Time will tell!
