Torchwood’s Kai Owen on new series
Torchwood star Kai Owen – who plays Gwen’s love interest, Rhys – says the final episode of the new mini-series is “so phenomenal” that there “has to be” another series.
The Welsh actor said that the cast are just waiting for the go-ahead to begin filming a follow-up series…
“Waiting for the nod, hopefully it will be happening – nothing has been confirmed yet but I’d do it forever, it’s a brilliant job” he told the PA.
He added, “I mean, it gets better after that first episode as well, it makes you want to watch the other four and they get better and better and better, episode five is so phenomenal, so it’s got to happen again.”
Talking about the new series, which airs from Monday next week, he said, “It was just lovely to work on one big storyline all the way through it.
“I loved that part about it really, because we all knew what was happening and we were all excited to see how it was gonna end because we knew it was all gonna tie in.”
Torchwood: Children Of Earth, a new five-part series for the BBC, runs every night next week starting on Monday at 9pm.

they have to do another series. torchwood is a fantastic program.
the mini series was fab.
John Barrowman was wrong when he said they were being ‘punished’ by being shortened. This was a brilliant way to present it and it was a gripping series – all the better for being compact, concise and to-the-point.
