Torn: The Final Part!

In the final part of Torn Alice and Stephen are left reeling from Joanna’s apparent suicide and the shocking turn of events has far reaching consequences for everyone.

Emotions are running high and the already strained relations in the Hooper family are now near breaking point. As Alice struggles to deal with her grief, she lashes out at Sarah, accusing her of not caring and revealing that she overhead the fight at the hospital. Sarah in turn blames her husband David; during yet another row, he asks her if she had in fact been to see Joanna before she died and accuses her of allowing her bitterness towards Joanna drive a wedge between the family.

As they fight, DS Bridges arrives at the house to inform them that Joanna’s death was not a suicide, and that the investigation has now become a murder enquiry.

David, Sarah, Alice and Stephen are all taken in for questioning and DS Bridges interrogates them about their movements in the time before Joanna’s death.

David cannot account for a lost two hours, saying he went for a walk with no witnesses to confirm his story; Stephen, in an attempt to ignore the emptiness of the flat since Alice’s departure was in the pub, drinking himself into oblivion; Sarah once again denies ever going to see Joanna but refuses to give any clear explanation of her movements. When Bridges announces she is cross matching Sarah’s DNA sample with skin found under Joanna’s finger nails, she is visibly rattled.

Alice however admits to visiting the woman she had called her mother for eleven years just hours before her death. She describes an emotional meeting which saw her stay for one hour after which she left Joanna alive, but confused, upset and wracked with guilt.

When the DNA results come back, the tests confirm that the traces of skin found under Joanna’s nails are indeed Sarah’s. However when the search being conducted in and around Joanna’s flat throws up a discarded set of bloody clothes, the truth surrounding that fateful night finally unfolds.

As secrets are revealed and long suppressed emotions are brought to the surface, can David and Sarah remain strong enough to hold together the family they have fought so long for, or will events finally tear them apart?
