Total Wipeout celebrates first female victory

Hosted by Richard Hammond, Total Wipeout is back for more spectacular crashes and hilarious mud splashes on one of the world’s most demanding yet hilarious obstacle courses.

Amanda Byram reports from Argentina to chat to courageous contestants on how brilliantly… and how terribly… they are doing in their valiant attempts to complete this extraordinary course.

As night falls, the Wipeout Zone beckons the three finalists for their final challenge. For the first time ever, it’s a female dominated final with one man versus two women. It’s history in the making as one of the girls makes it through the Wipeout Zone with the quickest time and claims the prestigious prize.

22 year old Gymnastics Coach Rachel Basford became the first ever UK female winner in this week’s show. It came as no surprise to Rachel, who describes herself as a competitive, dedicated athlete who is determined and ambitious.

Undeterred, Rachel was able to beat off all 19 of the other contestants to reign victorious. Speaking on her Total Wipeout experience, Rachel said; “It was brilliant! I would totally do it again. I had a fantastic experience and knowing that I’m the first female to win the show makes me feel so proud”

There is even more at stake this series as, for the first time, contestants compete to be crowned ‘Champion of Champions’ in the concluding show of the series Total Wipeout – The Final.

One thing is guaranteed, every show will be packed with the most outrageous collisions ever seen. Total Wipeout is a painfully funny game show that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.

Tune in this Saturday to watch the drama unfold as 20 whittled down to 12; 12 slumped to 6 until only 3 of the most bold and courageous were left to battle their way to the hugely-dramatic Wipeout Zone.
