It’s all going to be very dramatic in the upcoming season of True Blood!
Showrunner Alan Ball has already revealed that at least one major character will die during the fourth run and now Swedish hunk Alexander Skarsgard – of course best known as vampire sheriff Eric – has revealed that though his character will be back, he will be totally different to the person he was before.
Eric will find himself coming up against some very accomplished witches when the HBO show returns to our screens this month and Sookie will find herself with a new ward, after the dangerous females wipe his mind and he loses all memory of who (or indeed what) he is.
Alex told TV Guide:
“The old Eric is gone. He’s very innocent and naïve, and then he finds out who he is and what he’s done in the past — Eric has done some pretty bad things in the past — and it’s tough for him to digest that and to deal with that.”
In the books the relationship that then develops between Sookie and Eric is a rather tender, sweet and intensely sexual affair and Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) confessed that the show will follow a similar line. She added:
“She sees Eric in a whole new way. Sometimes it takes a slight shift in perspective for people to see what’s right in front of them.”
So will the pair end up just as ‘close’ as they did in the Charlaine Harris novels? Creator Alan Ball hints that they will and it looks like for most of season four, poor old Bill is going to find himself out in the cold!
“If you know the books and you like the fourth book in the series, you won’t be disappointed. [In that book], they have a pretty hot hookup that goes on for a while, but all I’m saying is fans of Team Eric will be very happy this year.”
Poor Alex! He recently revealed that he hates filming sex scenes with Anna, because of their close friendship. He must have had a hard time looking her in the eye after filming the upcoming episodes.
