We are only a few weeks away from the return of our favourite vampire drama and HBO have once again kept us interested by releasing a great promo for the fifth season of True Blood.

There is no actual footage or real dialogue in the clip, however we get a feel for the dark side of the new episodes, as everyone is seen weeping – some real human tears and some tears of vampire blood – in the video.

The voiceover artist tells the viewers that they don’t need to cry though, as their favourite characters will be back on screen very soon.

It can’t come soon enough and for US viewers, True Blood will return to HBO on 10th June.

Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse) has revealed that the new series will be the ‘most controversial yet’ and admitted that there will be brand new supernatural beings…..again!

The handsome star told Perez Hilton:

“This season is by far our most controversial. It’s pushing the boundaries even more. There’s a whole host of new characters and supernatural beings.”

We have had shifters, vampires, werewolves and were panthers…..what could be next? Zombies? Aliens? We can’t wait to find out!

Russell Edginton will also be back and Denis O’Hare told The Insider that he will bring a new comedic touch to the series as well as introducing his new boyfriend to fans.

He explained:

“In a strange way, Russell is actually a lot funnier this season. He’s not toothless, but he’s a little more of a comic foil until he isn’t. And then he becomes very, very vicious again. Which I love.”

He also revealed that Russell will be grateful to somebody, “and that gratitude may inform his new personality.”
