True Blood’s Kevin Alejandro joining ‘Law & Order: SVU’?

Kevin Alejandro may be moving from True Blood straight to crime drama Law & Order: SVU, it has been reported.

The 35 year old actor is best known for his portrayal of Benito “Benny” Velasquez in the series Sleeper Cell. However, more recently he has starred in HBO vampire drama True Blood, as Lafayette’s partner Jesus Velasquez.

Insiders say the Kevin is now one of four men being considered for the lead role in the hit NBC series, after Chris Meloni recently announced his departure, after 12 years of portraying Detective Elliot Stabler.

Deadline reports that the other three men in the running for the role include Michael Raymond-James (Terriers), Danny Pino (Cold Case) and David Conrad (Ghost Whisperer).

All four stars will allegedly be flying to New York for screen tests tomorrow.
