TV legend Robert Vaughn joining the cast of Coronation Street!
In what is quite a coup for the show, legendary The Man From UNCLE actor Robert Vaughn is to join the cast of Coronation Street.
He will apparently appear early in 2012, and though his stay is expected to be for just three weeks, he’s set to cause a stir while he’s there.
He’s been cast in the role of Milton, who’s a rich American who wins the steely heart of Roy Cropper’s mum Sylvia Goodwin on the cruise she won for writing a slogan for a cough mixture.
But as viewers will know, she nicked the slogan from batty Mary, but has no hesitation in enjoying her cruise prize…
The Sun’s TV Biz states that, “Sylvia can’t stop boasting about him when she returns home” however, she’s stunned when her new beau arrives in Weatherfield.
Vaughn of course joins a long list of celebrity faces who’ve made an appearance on the show – such as the folks mentioned in this article – but as mentioned earlier, he’s best known for his role on The Man From UNCLE.
Here’s a clip of him in action…
And of course, Stephanie Cole – who plays Roy’s battleaxe mum – is herself something of a TV legend, having achieved most fame from playing the role of Dr Beatrice Mason in wartime drama Tenko.
Here’s an episode featuring Stephanie as the hard worked doc…
