Kat Graham has revealed that she has landed her first ever record deal.
The 22 year old actress is best known as Bonnie Bennett from The CW’s Vampire Diaries and took to her personal blog this week to tell fans that she has inked a deal with A&M Octone Records and would soon be releasing her debut single.
The stunning star couldn’t contain her excitement as she posted a video to the site and said:
“I am so, so excited to share my big special announcement with you guys first. I am in a recording studio, which is why I have been a little quiet.
“The reason is I am now signed to A&M Octone Records. It is my first time being signed to a major label. We have a single and the new song that you guys will be hearing is called ‘Put Your Graffiti on Me’. We are shooting a music video this weekend.”
Kat has been working hard on her music career for the last few years, and has certainly been helped by her Vampire Diaries fame.
In 2008, she performed as a support act on a world tour with The Black Eyed Peas and she went on to be featured in two songs “I Got It From My Mama” and “The Donque Song” featuring Snoop Dogg, released on will.i.am’s solo release, Songs About Girls.
In 2010, Graham released the single “Sassy”. She then went on to release a number of cover versions, including Paula Abdul’s “Cold Hearted”, which garnered Graham the attention of Paula Abdul.
Graham contributed a cover of the classic Garbage song “Only Happy When It Rains” to the Vampire Diaries soundtrack for the December 2, 2010 episode titled “The Sacrifice”.
