Vets in Action With Kym Marsh Coming To Five!
Vets in Action is a five part series following the extraordinary work of four veterinary practices as they battle to save the lives of animals, both great and small. These vets practise in some of Britain’s most rugged and spectacular countryside, from the Pennines to the Dales and from the Lakes down to Morecambe Bay’s cockle flats.
Twenty-four hours a day, every single day of the year, the vets of Stanley House Surgery, The Bay Veterinary Practice, Minster Vets and Bishopton Surgery are on call. All are dedicated individuals who experience the joy of delivering youngsters as well as the pain of losing an animal in their care
Narrated by animal lover and Coronation Street star, Kym Marsh, the series will document the triumphs and tragedies of these tireless vets, committed to treat the sick and the injured. No animal gets turned away – the vets have sworn the veterinary equivalent of the Hippocratic Oath, to treat their patients to the best of their ability.
As well as treating large farm animals, the vets also care for domestic animals where the bond between the owners and their pets can be closer than any other. Vets in Action will follow these real life stories from beginning to end. Newly-qualifed vet, Neil, faces an emergency calving where it’s a race against time to encourage the young calf to take its first breath. Horse-loving vet, Richard, treats Benson, a beloved but ageing pet horse who’s finding it difficult to eat. A triathlete champion in her spare time, vet Louise, fights to save a young spaniel’s puppies who are too big to be delivered naturally and cat loving vet, Katie, tries to get two weak kittens to start suckling.
Every days viewers will witness the Vets in Action on the frontline of animal care.
Vets in Action will air for a week starting on the 4th August at 5.30- 6.30pm on Five.
