The Walking Dead may not return to AMC until early February, but that hasn’t stopped the network from pushing out some early promo material.
Today, a brand new promotional poster has landed and it’s no more prison for the guys over at The Walking Dead – at least, that’s not what the poster depicts.
From what we can see, Rick and Carl are put up front on the poster as it seems that Carl is coming into his own.
Unlike we have seen recently, the poster has nothing to do with the prison or its surrounding areas as both Rick & Carl are seen on a train track, presumably heading away from the prison.
The tagline reads: “Don’t Look Back”, which we reckon refers back to the prison and not to look back at what has happened. Focus on now and getting the hell away from the zombies that may be following you. But what’s in store for the cast next is anyone’s guess as we had quite an explosive mid-season finale last year.
As a bit of a recap (not that you’ll need one), the Governor came to a bloody end during the mid-season finale as he went a bit bat-crap again, however it backfired on him.
The Governor and his team tried to take over the prison and make it their own. When Rick tried to propose that they could all live together in the safety of the compound, the Governor wasn’t up for accepting. Either he had it, or nobody had it at all.
However, Lily turned on him as she delivered the final blow, which killed him outright.
David Morrissey who played the role of the Governor told The Hollywood Reporter following the mid-season finale that his character deserved what was coming to him.
He explained: “There are things that he has done that certainly lack compassion and love, but I still think there could have been times in his journey where he could have taken a different option and he could have gone with the best part of himself rather than the worst part of himself”.
The Walking Dead returns on AMC on February 9, 2014.
