What’s On TV Tonight ~ Monday 29th September
Well, it’s Monday again but that does mean that the fabulous Place of Execution is on at 9pm, so it makes up a lot for seeing the back of another all too brief weekend! There’s some great viewing on offer tonight, and here’s what we recommend you take a squiz at…
Emmerdale, ITV1, 7pm ~ Eli is stunned when he hears the truth about Danielle. Andy lies to Jo about going to anger management classes and a furious Donna hears that Ross interfered in her life.
The Dog Whisperer, Sky 3, 7pm ~ Dexter and Nasir: The awesome Cesar Millan helps a woman who’s scared of her own guard dog and a teacher who struggles with her pet’s unpredictable behaviour. If you’ve never watched this show before, you’ll be amazed at how Cesar trains these animals within minutes!
My Family, BBC1, 7.30pm ~ Going Dental: This sitcom has lost what it used to have for me, especially since Nick’s not in it however, tonight, Susan forsakes Ben’s dental conference to write her novel and Ben looks for a new partnership in Harley Street but ends up overrun with partners.
Coronation Street, ITV1, 7.30pm ~ Don’t miss Corrie for the next few days because we’re just about to get into a really tense new storyline! The Websters have discovered that Rosie’s missing, and Kevin hits the roof when he finds out that Tony was the last person to see his daughter. As the Morton’s pack their bags for their ‘holiday’ in Spain, Darryl tells Jerry that he wants to stay in Weatherfield and Janice tells Roger how she pulled off the bank scam. The second of tonight’s episodes is on at 8.30pm.
The Tax Factor: Tonight, ITV1, 8pm ~ Jonathan Maitland heads up an investigation into ‘stealth taxes’ and asks whether critics are justified in calling them unfair. Postponed from September 22nd.
Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter, ITV2, 8pm ~ In case you had the good fortune to miss its first outing, here’s another chance to glimpse behind the cameras as Katie Price and Peter Andre share more intimate moments from their private lives, and argue… a lot.
Eastenders, BBC1, 8pm ~ Tony’s behaviour towards Whitney takes an even more sinister turn and Bianca pushes him into making a big decision about their future. Danielle gets dragged into Ronnie’s battles with Archie, and Dot and Yolande can’t agree over the harvest festival.
Place of Execution, ITV1, 9pm ~ Lock your doors, take the phone off the hook and don’t allow any form of speaking unless there’s an advert on. In the second of this three-part drama, Catherine frantically attempts to salvage her documentary and presses George about whether he tampered with evidence relating to the Alison Carter case to try to secure a conviction. Flashbacks reveal the details behind Philip Hawkin’s arrest in connection with his step-daughter’s disappearance. Do not miss this one!
Dude, Where’s My Car? Five, 9pm ~ If you’re insane and don’t want to watch Place of Execution, this US ‘dude’ comedy could well be for you! Two friends wake up to realise that they can’t remember the events of the night before and set about retracing their steps, finding a host of crazy characters, a flock of marauding ostriches and the obligatory well-endowed girls. Comedy, starring Seann William Scott, Ashton Kutcher and Jennifer Garner.
One Tree Hill, E4, 9pm ~ Hate Is Safer Than Love: In tonight’s edition – where everyone’s beautiful, thin and involved in terrible misunderstandings and complex love affairs – Lucas is crushed by devastating news, Brooke’s baby undergoes emergency surgery and Quentin is pushed to his limits during a Ravens game. Followed by another episode at 10pm.
Inspector Morse, ITV3, 10.05pm ~ The Remorseful Day: This was the last ever episode of the detective drama starring the late, great John Thaw. The year-long investigation into the murder of Yvonne Harrison in a quiet Cotswold village is revitalised with the promise of new evidence, but, as Morse returns to full duties, is he really up to it and how will he react to Lewis leading the investigation?
The Dark Side of Fame With Piers Morgan, BBC1, 10.35pm ~ Tracey Emin: Series exploring the downsides to fame and tonight, Piers Morgan talks to the bad girl of British art, Tracey Emin, about the media’s reactions to her work and her rise to fame. Her outrageous behaviour and unique brand of autobiographical art quickly became fodder for the British press, who regarded her as a con artist, resented her success and ridiculed her art. Piers talks to Tracey about her place in the British public’s affections and wonders if her newly-found sobriety is ruining her image.
Real Crime: The 30 Year Secret, ITV1, 10.35pm ~ Tonight’s documentary looks at the desperately sad story of Lesley Molseed. Lesley was abducted and murdered in 1975 as she visited the corner shop near her home in Rochdale to buy a loaf of bread. Real Crime does an incredible job of piecing together the many elements of this complicated case that was to result in an infamous miscarriage of justice when local misfit, Stefan Kiszko, was wrongly convicted of her murder after a botched police inquiry. It wasn’t until 2007 that the culprit, Ronald Castree, was finally brought to justice after a new investigation secured the breakthrough. The programme features interviews with Lesley’s family, the solicitor who took up Kiszko’s case after years of campaigning by Stefan’s mother, and with the wife and son of Ronald Castree. Kiszko died a broken man in 1993, just 18 months after his release from prison.
So that’s our recommendations for the start of the new week. Have a great night!
