What To Watch On TV Tonight!!!
As well as the 9/11 Faker – which looks like one not to be missed – there’s some good telly on tonight. I’m always so glad when the Autumn season of programming starts to kick in because other than Big Brother and the start of X Factor, summer TV is naff!
So, we’ve got Emmerdale at 7pm to kick of the night’s viewing and in tonight’s episode, Eric announces that the new supervisor is Lexi, much to the horror of the other factory girls. He’s chosen her because he reckons she’s as devious as him, so she’ll be the ideal choice to watch over the workers.
Matthew admits to Katie that he only showed Anna around the stables to shock her – Katie – out of her negative attitude towards the business. He then tells her that he’s also set up a meeting with influential clients who later agree to use Katie’s stabling business. She’s overjoyed and thanks Matthew for his help but when she hears that he’s gambled with the entire King business empire, she’s horrified that he could be about to lose everything.
Brenda moves into the flat above Bob and Viv’s shop but the rumour mill is soon in action and the gossip is that there’s something going on between her and Bob. He’s worried that Viv will think he’s having an affair but when Jamie tells him that he’s arranged for Bob to visit his daughter Roxy, Bob cheers up and is looking forward to the trip.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been finding Emmerdale hard work lately, yet I keep watching; probably just because it’s what I’ve done since I was a kid. It’s auto reflex to watch Emmerdale after the evening news but the storylines and characters have become so ridiculous, I’m really struggling to maintain an interest in the doings of the Yorkshire folk. What do you think? Has Emmerdale lost its appeal or do you think it’s still as good as ever?
Now a programme that I very rarely miss is Eastenders, and barring earthquake, flood or accidentally falling asleep, I’ll be tuning in at 7.30pm tonight. Ian’s home from the hospital and with camera in hand, he takes his place behind the nets to spy on the Square. One of the people he’s spying on is Bianca and Ian’s furious when he watches her reject a call from him on her mobile.
He later stuns Bianca when he tells her that he intends to sue her for the whole margarine spillage, however Ricky saves the day when he begs Ian not to sue Bianca and Ian agrees, but only if Ricky chauffeurs him around for a month free of charge. Ian also takes pictures of Phil and Max and the gun that they’re both shadily looking at.
Over at the Branning’s, Dot tells Bradley that she’s sure there’s nothing going on between Callum and Stacey and at Pat’s, Ricky tells Pat that he’s planning on moving out.
Then at 8pm on the beeb there’s a documentary about the work of planning regulation enforcement officers. Now maybe it’s just me but this sounds as interesting as watching paint dry, but given that the immediate alternative is The Bill on ITV, I may give it a look-see. I’ve never been a fan of The Bill!
On the other hand, I may watch Friends on E4 from the 8 – 9pm slot. Even though I’ve seen every episode about a hundred times, I still love it and I’m guessing I’m not alone given that E4 constantly replay the whole shebang from start to finish. I wonder when, and if, they’re ever going to stop or at least move Friends out of the primetime slots?
If you’re not a Friends addict, you have a choice of 8pm programmes such as The Restaurant on BBC2, Chateau Monty on C4 or I Own Britain’s Best Home and Garden on Five.
Then we’ve got the 9/11 Faker at 9pm which I’ll be glued to if only to see what makes a person make such a terrible claim and then to watch her downfall! Unfortuantely it clashes with the absolutely brilliant Mock the Week on BBC2 at 9pm but we can catch up with that on BBC iPlayer later.
Then, for sad old folk like me, it’s probably bedtime but for those daring young things who like to stay up after 10pm, there’s the film American Beauty on BBC1 at 10.45pm. I’ve never actually seen it but given that Kevin Spacey’s in it, it’s probably going to be good. Who knows, I might go crazy and put off my nightly cocoa to stay up and watch it! I know!
