Bionic Woman actress, Michelle Ryan has been tipped as Doctor Who’s new assistant for next years series on BBC One.

The BBC are expected to make an announcement next week about who will accompany Matt Smith on his debut as the Doctor and though Lily Allen was tipped for the role, many insiders are now reporting that Michelle Ryan is actually favourite for the part.

Michelle recently appeared in BBC drama Merlin and last year starred in American series Bionic Woman, but of course to all of us she will always be known as Zoe Slater from Eastenders.

‘She is perfect for the role,’ a source tells the Sunday Mirror.

‘Not only is she the right age to star alongside Matt, she is goodlooking and has been pretty much out of the limelight having been in America for a few years.

‘Those involved in the show agree Matt and Michelle look great together – they reckon fans will believe they’re the perfect team too.’
