Will Richard & Judy Leave Watch?

TV duo, Richard and Judy have admitted that if their new show on TV channel ‘Watch’ doesn’t pick up ratings soon, they may leave the show and channel altogether.
The pair were paid £1 million each to move from Channel 4 where they regularly drew in ratings in the region of three million, however on a recent episode of their new show they were watched by just 12,000 people.
Yesterday Richard said: “The series is planned till Christmas 2009. If it doesn’t work, it’s not the end of the world.” Richard told Jo Russell’s Absolute Radio Show: “When you go to a new channel, let alone a new programme on an existing channel, of course the ratings are going to be incredibly low compared to before. They just die.
“It takes months for a new channel to establish itself, and Watch has only been going since the beginning of October.
“I’ve likened it to opening a franchise in a big new department store that’s only been open ten minutes. It’s going to take a while for the shoppers to come in.
“Frankly, we predicted this before we even left.
“We knew we were going to a very, very small audience to begin with, but the trick is to build it, and that is going to take months.”
