Ugly Betty bosses have revealed that Betty is to get a makeover for season four. The producers are taking her new look very seriously and have even sent out the first few episodes to focus groups to get some feedback. Michael Ausiello reports that as Mode’s new associate features editor, Betty opts for some fancy new outfits and a less eccentric look. She’s also had her hair styled, her brows shaped and makeup redone.

I get that Betty has to evolve, no one needs to wear braces for four years and its only natural that her time working for Mode would influence how she looks at her own sense of style, however if Betty becomes to glamourous the show would surely lose its original premise. Will Betty be as lovably fallible if she’s chic?
