Wit Woo! Corrie’s Natalie Gumede and EastEnders star Jasmyn Banks gets sexy makeovers!

by Lynn Connolly

In this week’s Now magazine, it’s the battle of the soap babes as both Corrie’s Natalie Gumede and EastEnders’ Jasmyn Banks received sexy makeovers courtesy of the magazine…

And as you can see, the difference in Jasmyn is quite astonishing, because as Alice Branning, she is a tad dowdy most of the time and more used to accessorizing with a Hello Kitty hair slide than a studded leather ensemble!

Natalie is also a good deal more glam then her nutty Corrie character Kirsty Soames, but even as new mum Kirsty, Natalie’s hair just plain rocks.

However, back to Jasmyn, and while taking part in the photo shoot, she also took time out to discuss how she’s settled in to the ‘Enders cast.

She said, “I’m having the best time ever,” adding, “I’d auditioned before a few times – I first did one when I was 14 and then a few years later for the role of Lauren Branning…

“I knew at some point I was going to crack that nut.”

But there could be bad news for fans of Alice because Jasmyn then revealed that she has her eye on a career in the States.

She said, “I’m not going to lie, I want to be in Hollywood [in five years’ time].

“Do you think I can do it? Aim high, I say.”

And when asked whose Hollywood career she would “like to steal”, she said, “Kate Winslet’s had a fantastic career and some great roles.”

On now to what Natalie had to say during her interview with Now, and she revealed that on the set of Corrie, she isn’t too worried about looking glam.

She said, “You can’t be too concerned about what you look like or letting yourself go…

“Sometimes real life is ugly – to show that, you have to forget your inhibitions.”

Of her current storylines, and of working with Alan Halsall, who plays Kirsty’s fiancé Tyrone, Natalie said, “Alan and I have a great relationship – he’s funny, cheeky and upbeat, so that keeps us laughing between the tough scenes.

“[But] it was upsetting for me the first couple of times I had to be violent as Kirsty.

“It was hard to get to that place and come out straightaway, so I stayed at work for a few hours drinking tea, just to come back down.

“I thought [the public would] hate me but I haven’t been bashed over the head with a handbag or anything – yet! But people have shouted, ‘Leave Tyrone alone!’”

You can read the full interviews and see more pics in Now magazine, which is out today (Tuesday, September 18).
