Wonderland – The 92 Year Old Danger Junkie

At 92 years of age, Ron Cunningham, aka “The Great Omani” and one of the last survivors of the old Houdini-style performers, isn’t looking back on a lifelong career in escapology. Instead, he’s looking forward to his next, and final, stunt.

Battling with cancer, Ron has suffered a series of strokes and has an intermittent ability to walk – his son takes him around in a wheelchair much of the time. The world’s oldest living stuntman continues to defy the odds and arranges appearances on Korean television and a range of specially choreographed performances, in which he sets himself alight and showers himself in glass.

Film-maker Daniel Vernon has followed Ron for more than five years. As the date of Ron’s final stunt draws near, he suddenly reveals that he will never be able to outlive The Great Omani, and that the act of defying death on stage is the only way he can defy death off stage.
