Following the success of the hilarious first series, Would I Lie To You? returns to our screens this July for more hoodwinking and porkie-talking. Hosted by Angus Deayton and featuring David Mitchell and Lee Mack as team captains, the show presents a profusion of unbelievable truths and believable lies. All the teams have to do is dupe each other into believing that what’s false is true and what’s true is not.
Every week, two celebrity guests join each team captain to compete head-to-head revealing incredible facts and embarrassing personal tales for the consideration of the opposing team. Some of the tales are true; some are not, and it’s the panellists’ task to separate the facts from the fabrications. In the tradition of all great parlour games, Would I Lie To You? is a real test of people’s ability to talk funny, convincing nonsense while thinking on their feet.
Would I Lie To You? boasts an impressive line-up of panellists including comedians, actors, presenters and all round TV favourites. Some of the names spinning yarns this series include: Rob Brydon, Davina McCall, Phil Daniels, Tara Palmer–Tomkinson, Michael Buerk, Richard Wilson, Trisha Goddard, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Maureen Lipman, Jimmy Carr, Gabby Logan, Peter Serafinowicz and Lauren Laverne.
As well as the personal revelations, Would I Lie To You? also debates stories linked to incredible archive footage, and reveals amazing secrets from behind the scenes of some of the nation’s best loved TV shows.
