The war is on between Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh it seems and after we reported yesterday that the former had branded his pal a bad mentor on The Xtra Factor on Sunday, the Irish star has hit back!
Simon claimed that Louis lost two of his acts – Blonde Electra and Overload Generation – on the first results show of the series because he made mistakes with their song choices and routines on Saturday night. He told his pal that he was at fault for their elimination and he didn’t mince his words.
Now Walsh has lashed back, insisting that Simon bullies boys on the ITV show and takes it easier on female contestants.
Speaking to The Sun, Louis said that he always ends up being ‘the fall guy’ on the ITV show and added:
“You watch tapes back — Simon never takes it out on the girls. If he did it would be seen as bullying.”
He added: “It’s OK to bully me — I think it’s my job on the show.”
On the X Factor results show, when Simon had to choose between Overload Generation and Stephanie Nala, he didn’t seem enamoured by either act but insisted that he could vote for an act he had ‘absolutely no faith in’. Louis was gutted by his comments and continued:
“It was really harsh, it’s tough on them, but it will toughen them up.”
Louis now has only two acts left in the competition – Stereo Kicks and Only The Young – and the pressure is on for the former Westlife boss to choose well for them for Saturday’s show.
Show two will have an 80s theme, which should be right up Walsh’s street, but if he wants to have an act left for later stages of the competition then he’d better get his head down and put the effort in.
