Former EastEnders star Zoe Lucker has revealed that once she left the show, and her role as Vanessa Gold, she treated herself to a new hairdo.

As fans will know, Vanessa looked remarkably like an Afghan hound with her two-tone hair.

Speaking to New! magazine, Zoe said, “I’ve actually cut my hair into a short, choppy-ish bob since I left.

“I needed to get rid of all that dead hair!”

Zoe went on to say that she’s still close to some of her former cast-mates.

She said, “I get texts from Nina [Wadia], Marc [Elliott], Rita [Simons] and Steve [John Shepherd]. It was a lovely place to work.”

However, Zoe admitted that she’s missed working since she left the show…

She said, “I’d been working flat out for about three months, so it was strange going from all that intense stuff to not doing anything.

“I’m not very good at relaxing. If I sit down and watch daytime TV, I feel guilty!

“I like a project that I can focus on.”

And it seems Zoe’s keen to try working in a comedy role.

She said, “I think I’d like to try my hand at some comedy. It’s just a case of waiting for the right script to come along.

“I don’t want to jump into anything where I go, ‘Yeah, it could be all right’. I want to read it and immediately think, ‘I need to do this!’”
